Design Week Tallahassee
Design Week Tallahassee is a weeklong series of events for designers. Each year we would redesign the brand with a new theme, and for our third year, we wanted to go bigger and better with our events, branding, and overall experience. We wanted to invite people to think about design as more than just digital, and to see the many potentials of it.
Finding Inspiration
this will be information about how we did research and started looking into our style and branding for the 2018 events.
- The first thing we did was create merchandise based on the original illustration and then we printed it.
- After that we decided to create cool tote bags that really carried the personality of the awesome illustrations that we had, and it was vey last minute.
- Finally, we had cool t-shirts to show and I was so amazed by the design and I added some stippling to it and it was super awesome mega foxy hot cool.

Events
this will be information about the events themselves and how i did all of the organizing for it. Since the start of Design Week Tallahassee in 2016, I had organized all of the events, from booking the speakers and venues to setting up each event with registration, merchandise, and audio/visual. 2018 was our biggest turnout yet, with 11 events and 150 unique attendees, we wanted to make each event unique but also be able to flow into the next.
We had 3 different types of events that we would put on: workshops, talks, and meetups. We focused on getting sponsors to cover venue space, supplies and materials, and food and drink. We wanted the events to be accessible for all, so our talks and meetups were always free, and our workshops were always affordable and included discounts for students and teams.
